When the Raymond Parade and Family Fun Day set for Saturday gets rolling it will honor Raymond native Jenni Nichelmann. She will be wearing a tiara and pink satin Miss Inspiration 2014 sash, riding on a Yamaha Rhino ATV.
Born with Down syndrome, the almost 38-year-old woman is descended from the Appling and Calhoun families on her mother’s side. These families have their roots in Raymond since the 1800s.
“I call my husband Buster a newbie because his family has only been here since 1927,”said her mother Jacqui.
Jenni is very excited to be in the parade. The youngest of four children, her siblings are brothers Mike and Paul Nichelmann and sister Marva Stephens. They all still live in Raymond and will attend the parade. Stephens is set to drive the ATV...
