The Madera Coyotes baseball team earned its fifth win of the season Wednesday, handing the Fresno Warriors a 2-1 defeat.
The Coyotes (5-1) and Warriors (2-5) scored all of their runs in the first inning of Wednesday’s game. From then on, it was a head-to-head pitching battle between Madera’s Anthony Castro and Fresno’s Brandon Acosta, who both pitched complete games in the Central Baseball Classic.
Madera continues play today, hosting the Liberty Hawks in Mel Parker Field at 3:30 p.m. to continue the Central Baseball Classic.
